China’s Steel Export up 25.3% YoY in March 2024

According to customs statistics, China's steel exports in March reached 9.888 million tons, an increase of 1.998 million tons, or 25.3%, compared to the same period last year; an increase of 2.72 million tons compared to the previous month, with a month-on-month average growth of 29%.

Import volume was 617,000 tons, a decrease of 65,000 tons, or 9.5%, compared to the same period last year; a decrease of 514,000 tons compared to the previous month, with a month-on-month average decrease of 49%.

From January to March, China's cumulative steel exports reached 25.8 million tons, an increase of 6.063 million tons, or 30.7%, compared to the same period last year; cumulative steel imports were 1.748 million tons, a decrease of 164,000 tons, or 8.6%, compared to the same period last year.
